this illusion

if an owl visits you in a dream, along with a maze of stairways, and a yellow haired baby since you were fifteen,

then watching the vintage 1986 classic Labyrinth on a winter solstice is no accident.

little boys i met today

selling cigarettes
lost, crying in a bookstore, waiting for his brother
and if last week counts, a ten year old teaching me to make an owl origami the next day after an owl's visit

and a lotus flower which a gave to a nine year old on his birthday.

Funny Wisdom

The film reminds me so much of the wisdom in Alice in Wonderland cross the wit and aura of the Princess Bride. David Bowie was perfect for the role of Jareth, the villain or anima of Sarah ( ah, the name - yes, unfortunately and fortunately, since last year, december 12, i wish i had a different name like Maya or Katherine or Tala anything that doesn't make me hate myself).

"I'll lay my love, between the stars " - notice the monster between them :O

THE LABYRINTH - The Centre of the Universe
The Labyrinth is a dizzy, huge maze that surrounds Jareth’s castle. It is Sarah’s inner psyche and it is in constant turmoil. She must get to the very center of her heart and find Jareth there. But she cannot go straight to him, for there are too many layers, fantasies and illusions that keep them apart. The reward is not in finding Jareth, but in getting to him and getting him out. This world is too confusing. Why is a movie that tries to teach you not to be slave turn you into one? Would you have neede this labyrinth so much if you had never known what it was? Truth is, everyone always had one on the inside. Sooner or later something has to bring it out.

where i find myself

WISEMAN: OH. WHAT CAN I DO FOR YOU?
SARAH: I MUST GET TO THE CASTLE
SARAH: AT THE CENTER OF THE LABYRINTH.
SARAH: DO YOU KNOW THE WAY?
WISEMAN: AH.
HAT: AH.
WISEMAN: EH?
HAT: EH?
WISEMAN: OH, YES. HUH.
WISEMAN: YOU WANT TO GET TO THE CASTLE?
HAT: HOW'S THAT FOR BRAINPOWER, HUH?
WISEMAN: BE QUIET!
HAT: AW, NUTS.
WISEMAN: SO, YOUNG WOMAN,
WISEMAN: THE WAY FORWARD IS SOMETIMES THE WAY BACK.
HAT: AYE!
HAT: WILL YOU LISTEN TO THIS CRAP!
WISEMAN: WILL YOU PLEASE BE QUIET!
HAT: ALL RIGHT.
WISEMAN: OK?
HAT: OK.
WISEMAN: ALL RIGHT.
HAT: ALL RIGHT. SORRY.
WISEMAN: FINISHED?
HAT: YES.
WISEMAN: QUITE OFTEN, YOUNG LADY,
WISEMAN: IT SEEMS LIKE WE'RE NOT GETTING ANYWHERE,
WISEMAN: WHEN, IN FACT...
HAT: WE ARE.
WISEMAN: WE ARE.
SARAH: I'M NOT GETTING ANYWHERE
SARAH: AT THE MOMENT.
HAT: HA! JOIN THE CLUB!
